Description

PHC Osumenyi has a total population of 15,975 with 6villages under it. According to Mrs Theresa mgbekwute the health attendant the PHC to no rural hospital and the general hospital is very far from the PHC. It gets supplies from the local government.
The health department has constructed an independent building which is in good condition, this was done in September 2017.
The facility has a major challenge of electricity supply as there is no electricity supply at all and the generator is not in working condition.
The PHC is located more or less at the outskirt of the community and is almost inaccessible by members of the community, it has not been fenced either.
The water supply at the facility is irregular but there is an alternative which is rainfall during rainy seasons and fetching water from any available water source, due to this, the toilet has no water in it and also no light either.
There is availability of 6 bed spaces although the mattresses, bed sheets and pillows are not in good condition.
There are no facilities for blood, urine and sputum tests. The only type of urine test done are those of pregnancy using the kit.
Small surgeries like removing pus from wounds, removing boils and putting stitches take place in the facility.
The facility records 0-5 births monthly and during these births in the absence of electricity lanterns are used.
The PHC has no referral record register and as such no referral has been recorded.
There is no ambulance for the facility.
The PHC has permanent medical officers, permanent community health extension workers, permanent axillary mid wife, no pharmacist, laboratory technician nor driver.
There is no residential arrangement for the workers as there is no staff quarter although all staff live around and in the PHC village.
