St Monica PHC is located at Onitsha south local government with a target population of twelve thousand.
Phc woliwo which is centrally located and linked to general hospital Onitsha has seven villages in the
coverage area. Motivatiosurgeries. A staff Sylvia Onwunia says workers are not motivated to enhance
performance.
Medical supplies and drugs for the phc are obtained from Anambra state capital, Awka.
Records show that the phc admitted less than three patients between March and April and three
babies were born at the center during the same period.
Public electric power and water are irregular in the phc with genetor which is not in a working
condition and Torch light provides light for deliveries and minor surgeries.
Phc is housed is housed as bedroom bungalow which needs immediate rehabilitation. The roof leaks
in several spots when it rains and staff says last renovation at the center was in 2017.
The phc has about three beds which were poorly arranged while basic lab test except sputum were
conducted by the lab to technician.
A few community health . work, medical officers lab tech run the center while AMR is on contract.
Other categories like pharmacist and driver were non existent. No medical officer resides around the
phc.
The center has water facility which is connected to the church. The toilet used in the center is water
closet that is neat. The center does not have facility to live in.

A community member, said the phc charges a lot of Money for drugs and this is not advisable.
She called on the government to take actions on this.
