Description

Primary Health Centre Amako one of the newly built health facility in Orumba north LSocal Government area of Anambra state has a total population 5,000 with 4kindreds under it. It not connected to any hospital and has none close by.
According to Mrs. Ike Fidelia the officer-in-charge, the facility get its supplies from the local government. She stated that the facility is 5km away from the general hospital.
She complained that the facility lacked: water supply, refrigerator (for preserving of drugs), beds, mattresses, placenta pit.
The PHC has an independent building which is in a healthy condition but with an irregular electricity and a generator which is not in working condition.
According to Mrs. Fidelia the facility gets water from a nearby bore hole. The facility lacks appropriate equipment for: blood, urine and sputum testing.
The mattresses in the facility are in a manageable condition.
The facility records 0-4 deliveries and in the absence of electricity during delivery the use of torch light is employed.
