Description

Located at Oyi local government. Centrally located and linked to Nnamdi Azikiwe university Teaching
hospital Umunya with six villages in its coverage area.
The phc is about 1km away from the general hospital, obtains medical supplies from Oyi local
government. Motivation is poor.
Records show that the phc admitted about a dozen patient between March and April 2018 and about
five babies were born at the center during the same persame
Public electric supply is irregula, water supply is non existent and rechargeable lamp provides light
during surgeries.
Minor surgeries except sputum are conducted by the staff. Only urine test is conducted in this center.
The phc is housed as bungalow which is not secured and needs urgent rehabilitation as the building is in
a bad condition.
The phc was last renovated in 2017.
It has less than five beds that were not properly dressed.
Staffing at the phc, medical officers and AMW run the phc, while other positions like lab technician,
pharmacist are non existent.
CHEW are four in number, driver comes when there is a referal service. A keke ambulance was donated
to the phc recently by the state government.
No patient was available at the time of the visit.
