Description

PHC Oraeri has a total population of 25,447 and covers five villages.
According to Mrs Odoh Grace a senior community health extension worker, the facility is not linked to any rural hospital and Chiemerie Hospital as a close by hospital.
The facility gets its supplies from the local government. She said the PHC is far from the general hospital.
The health department constructed an independent building with rooms in a good condition. It was last renovated in 2014.
The facility has irregular electricity supply and a generator which is not in working condition.
The water supply is irregular but there is an alternative water facility which is purchase of water from water tankers and due to this there is no water in the toilet, the toilet is properly lighted.
There is an arrangement of 3-5 beds, the mattresses, bed sheets and pillows are not proper and clean.
There are no facilities for blood, urine and sputum tests. The only kind of tests conducted are pregnancy and HIV with the help of the kits.
Small surgeries like removing pus from wounds, removing boils, putting stitches take place in the facility.
The facility records 0-13 births monthly and during child birth in the absence of electricity they make use of solar lamp.
The facility has a referral record register and the last referral was done in June 2017.
There is no ambulance for the facility.
The facility have only health extension workers with every other position vacant.
The residential arrangement for workers is quite satisfactory although not all workers live within the PHC village.
