PHC Daika is situated 7.3 km North from Mangu town, Plateau state. It is a building without fence,no electricity supply, no water supply and poor staff motivation. since its establishment over 5 years ago, no renovation ahs taken place.
Mrs Faith Yilbissa (35years) who works with PHC Daika, said that building is in a bad condition and needs urgent intervention. Although it is functional 24 hours, the mid wife present in the PHC use lanterns at night to deliver babies, knowing fully well the hazardous implications this has on both mother and child, "but condition has forced her to do it this way".
The building has only one toilet that both staff and patients make use of, and is in a dire state.
